We’re delighted to introduce you to catering without a script.  At Balmule there are no set menus to choose from, nothing to conform to and nothing that’s too simple or too opulent.

A mouth-watering menu is a must for any Wedding Breakfast and Balmule House is delighted to work exclusively with The Edinburgh Catering Company who offer a dining experience like no other and delight in using the finest ingredients to create menus which are as delicious as they are interesting.


Whether you want to go all out with a traditional four-course affair or take a more informal route with all-day grazing and a sunset barbecue, the team at The Edinburgh Catering Company will be on hand to help plan and design the perfect menu for you.


They’ll take great pleasure in working directly with our Newly Weds To-Be, taking on board ideas and feedback to create bespoke packages, tailored to your exact requirements. All their dishes are open to interpretation, and they will happily explore your wildest dreams and bring them to life for you.


The wedding catering packages include a full menu tasting session, as part of the standard service. This means that before you decide between the seared venison, cured trout or duck liver parfait, you can head to their kitchen and try them all first! You can then discuss the presentation of a dish, how the whole menu works together, and how you envision the service being handled on the day, thereby ensuring you are entirely comfortable with every little detail.


Exceptional food and service will ensure your day is a truly memorable one for all your guests, and a relaxing one for you.

Sample Wedding Breakfast Menu

To create your own wedding menu, please choose one starter, one main course and one dessert from the selection below. If you would like to inter change some of the items, we can easily develop an alternative menu.

Canapés

Haggis bonbons with burnt apple ketchup

Venison tartare with coffee, dark chocolate & shallot purée

Herb shortbread with red onion marmalade and basil & goat’s curd


Starters

Glazed ham hock terrine with carrot, pork scratching crumb and gingerbread crisp

Braised oxtail open ravioli with heritage tomato & pickle salad

Cullen Skink with kipper arancini and herb oil


Main Course

Rosemary marinated venison haunch with potato fondant, confit garlic, hispi cabbage and sloe gin sauce

Confit Scottish smoked salmon with herb gnocchi, green beans, caramelised shallot & beurre blanc

Butternut squash & veggie haggis wellington with salsify, kale and red wine sauce


Desserts

Dark chocolate & salted caramel tart, raspberries and peanut praline

Heather honey panna cotta with oat crumble, whisky, honeycomb and raspberries

Scottish cheese board with charcoal oatcakes and grape & sherry chutney
